In terms of tradition and integrity, our core values have remained a constant guiding force. How do we continue in those traditions and hold on to that integrity but still move with the times?Above all, we need to always maintain trust with our stakeholders. In one sense, its a very big word, trust. Creating trust is something that has never changed and should not change. If we start losing that, were going to lose everything. This has remained a guiding principle for us and that hasnt really changed in these last70 years. Sumitomo is a company that people would like toAbove, from left to right: Hiroyuki Jose Koike, SCOA Executive Vice President,Chief Financial Officer & Chief Business Development Officer; Tim Sander, SCOAhave a long-term relationship with. The very way we do business Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer & GM of Human Resourcescomes from creating a mutually beneficial long-term relationship Group; Masayuki Hyodo, Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officerwith our stakeholders. It holds true that for any action, in fact any of Sumitomo Corporation; and Tomonori Tom Wada, President & CEO of Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, General Manager for the Americasbusiness you conduct, trust is still the most important thing.Last question. You are fond of athletic metaphors, so in terms of continued business success, how do we move the ball further down the field for a touchdown in our everyday work? An employee needs a clear view as to what they want to be or what they should be. It could be adream of something down the field, and thats okay, but I think everybody has to have a clear viewof where the end zone is and where the touchdown would happen. That varies with each person. With Sumitomo, if the dream combines into one belonging to one team or one organization, thatalso becomes a big story. But I want everybody to have that view always in mindwhat do youwant to be next year? Five, ten years from now? And what kind of contribution do you wantto make to society? We have to be able to look downfield because we cant throw a touchdownif we cant see the end zone. My wish is for everyone to see down the field, because that isthe first step toward scoring.
