As I mentioned earlier, I havehad many experiences and op-portunities to take on challenges from scratch in new business fields and new regions. From this point of view, rather than working on something that already exists and regions that everyone already knows, I get extremely excited when we work together as a team and move forward in unexplored fields and regions, with our own hypothesis in order to reach our goals and dreams.Furthermore, I feel deeply Above: Mr. Hasegawa and his EIIA team discuss projectspassionate about bringing apositive impact to society andimproving the global environment.I highly encourage all EIIA members to come up with interesting ideas without being bound by preconceivedbias and attract people both inside and outside Sumitomo. Take actions, work together as a team and learnthrough trial and error. Going from zero to one is full of counterintuitive insights that will help our thinking and ignite possibilities. That is what we at EIIA are!Can you tell us more about some activities EIIA is currently involved with? To start, we are emphasizing the promotion of energy transition and sustainability. SC Americas has been promoting Sustainability in corporate actions and business activities in aiming to achieve carbon neutrality goal by 2050.As EIIA, we found great value in engaging all SCOA employee to cultivating a sustainability mind-set. The key to creating a vibrant and sustainable company is to find ways to get all employees including top executives personally engaged in day-to-day corporate sustainability efforts to live a better future,To initiate this movement, EIIA started featuring basic concepts of Energy Efficiency, Circular Economy topics as well as actual business cases on our monthly report. We are hoping to encourage SCOA employees to adopt these tips and to reduce their carbon footprint as small actions can make a big difference.Secondly, we have signed a MoU in November 2021 with one of the biggest gas companies in Colombia named Promigas to study hydrogen businesses for mobility purposes in Colombia. This collaboration began when we intro-duced hydrogen related technology of One H2, a company we invested in the US. In Colombia, as of today Sumitomo has very little experience in project-type businesses. Our challenge is, in collaboration with Promigas, a first-class company in Colombia, to create the unique business model by leveraging Sumitomos and Promigass strengths.18 visions Fall 2022'
